Since debuting in 1976, Ricardo Montaner has released numerous iconic hits from his 24 highly-rated studio albums. The singer-songwriter began his passion for music by singing in a church choir in Venezuela. The Argentina-born singer later delivered his first solo performance in Peru by singing “Canta, viejo, Cant.” by 1976, Montaner dropped his debut single “Mares,” produced by renowned Italian singer Roberto Luti. A decade later, Montaner dropped his debut album, Cada Dia. But it wasn’t until 1987 that Montaner finally made his breakthrough in Venezuela with singles “Vamos a Dejarlo” and “Yo Que Te Ame.”
Soon, Montaner consistently dropped monumental hits like “Tan Enamorados” and “A Done Va El Amor.” The songs were featured in his sophomore album, Ricardo Montaner 2. In the same year, Montaner starred in a wildly popular telenovela, “Niña Bonita. This jumpstarted his success, and he soon released several platinum-selling records. Since his debut, Montaner has sold over 100 million albums, making him one of the most successful Latin artists in the world. In 1992, Montaner performed a live concert in Madison Square Garden, selling more than 16,000 tickets. In 2016, Montaner received a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award thanks to his impactful contributions to music.
