For more than four decades, Kurt Bestor has produced music for movies and other media. He started as a trumpet player and arranger for a local TV station, which later turned into a job, creating commercial jingles. He instantly became an in-demand composer when he made original music with his colleague, Sam Cardon, for ABC's coverage of the 1988 Winter Olympics. Both won an Emmy for that composition. That stint encouraged Sam to make a Christmas album. "An Airus Christmas Volume 1," his debut album, was a success. This led him to do his very first Christmas concert in Salt Lake City. He is known for his compositions that are performed around the world, such as "Prayer of the Children" and "Mama Don't You Weep." In 2002, he composed for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
Thirty-five years later, the Emmy-winning composer's concert became an annual Christmas tradition. This year the theme for his concert is "Celebrating 35 Years of Holiday Tradition." His show will include a live band, an orchestra, and possibly a surprise guest.
