Jonathan Van Ness is an award-winning actor, writer, and comedian who is famous for starring in the Netflix revival of the American reality television "Queer Eye." Aside from being an internet star, Van Ness is an Emmy Nominee and a New York Times Best-Selling author. The actor advocates for the equal opportunities of LGBTQ+ members and their rights. The release of their second book, "Over The Top: My Story," became millions of fans' inspiring narrative for one's challenging journey in accepting identity, love, and the challenges that come along with living a queer life. Their consecutive success in multiple media arts included them as one of today's multi-talented and mainstream personalities.

Jonathan Van Ness's career skyrocketed in their appearance on a parody episode for "Funny or Die" in 2013. With their spectacular performance, the audience craved more, and the episode became a popular stand-alone parody web series. In 2018, Van Ness was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for the performance. Van Ness came from an array of inspiring experiences and humble beginnings, all of which became a canvass to the person they are today. Born and raised in Quincy, Illinois, Jonathan Van Ness grew up never feeling uncomfortable in their gender expression and sexuality and accepted at a young age the navigation of other people's reactions towards it.

In the late 2010s, as a hairdresser for their good friend Erin Gibson, they were asked to do an impromptu recap of the series' Game of Thrones episode, which ended with ultimately changing their life around to stardom. The series later went on to be nominated three times for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series. In 2015, "Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness," the podcast has grown to amass over 250 episodes.
