One of the household names in the 80s and 90s rock music scene, Crowded House is one of the few non-American and non-English bands who have cemented their names in the music industry. Formed in Melbourne, Australia, in the early 1980s, the band was at its peak from 1985 to 1996. The band, which was then comprised of Neil Finn, Paul Hester, Nick Seymour, Tim Finn, Mark Hart, and Matt Sherrod, enjoyed commercial and critical success in New Zealand, Australia, the US, and Europe. Their self-titled debut album reached number 12 on the US Album Chart in 1987 and provided the Top Ten hits "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong." Their hits "Fall at Your Feet," "Weather with You," "Distant Sun," "Locked Out," "Instinct," and "Not the Girl You Think You Are" further solidified their place among the greatest in their generation.

The band was able to produce four successful best-selling albums before deciding to disband in 1996, much to their fans' dismay. In 2006, the band re-grouped with drummer Matt Sherrod and released two further albums: "Time on Earth" in 2007 and "Intriguer" in 2010. Both albums reached number one on Australia's album chart. Although these two albums were massively successful, the band did not make a follow-up –– not until last year when the band announced that they were crafting a new album entitled "Dreamers Are Waiting."

This year, the band is back after years of taking a hiatus from touring. The band will embark on a 21-date outing in September. The itinerary includes shows in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Toronto, Nashville, Denver, and Los Angeles, among other cities, before wrapping in Vancouver on October 3. The band will stop at Salt Lake City's George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater this September 24, Saturday.

"Crowded House are delighted at long last to be able to play shows in North America. We have been picking up the pace recently as the world opens up and can't wait to present the show with this band lineup in absolute top form to the good folk of North America, from sea to shining sea," said founding member Neil Finn, who will play the tour alongside Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, Liam Finn, and Elroy Finn.
